Fay Wolf will make you cry. And it’ll feel really really good.
Originally from Connecticut, Fay Wolf is an L.A.-based singer-songwriter who refers to her live performances as “sadsongfunnyjokemusictimes.” On their own, her songs beg comparisons to Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell and Ani Difranco.
Fay was singing loud and proud by age four. She then moved on to piano by age six; and after being classically trained and winning awards for her efforts, she very dramatically quit piano lessons at age twelve and became a rebellious teenager instead. Seventeen years later, she began writing sad piano songs in her closet, and all was right with the world again.
In November 2009, Fay Wolf released Blankets, her debut EP. On Blankets, Fay’s playing is light, calculated and eloquent — a poignant accompaniment to her authentic lyrics that cover depression, racial identity, loneliness and a little something called love too. All with a hearty grain of salt and just the right amount of peppered sarcasm. Appropriately distributed bouts of levity give her songs character without roaming into melodramatic territory.
Following the release of Blankets, Fay’s music spread via word-of-mouth, and fans regularly gather to see her perform at some of the most sought-after venues in Los Angeles and New York, including Hotel Café and The Living Room. In addition to her grassroots success, Fay’s music has also been placed in the hit shows Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill and USA Network’s Covert Affairs.
Fay Wolf is more than just a singer, songwriter, pianist, and de facto stand-up comic. She is a classically-trained actress too, with a BFA from Boston University. Her recent acting accomplishments include work in theatre, film, and guest appearances on Numb3rs, Bones, Ghost Whisperer and NCIS: Los Angeles. Luckily, no matter how many roles Fay takes on, nothing is neglected; Fay is also a professional organizer who has her own company called ‘New Order’, named after the band.
She may sing songs about leaving, but it’s looking like Fay Wolf is here to stay. Each solemn note confirms it. Follow Fay along on her journey and visit www.FayWolf.com and www.Facebook.com/FayWolfMusic.

"Fay Wolf makes endearing references to her "sad piano songs". But anyone who walks away without a fuller picture of Wolf's music would be simplifying the depths of her talent. ...She lives and breathes the songs as a character in the scenes she crafts."
